In questa sezione si parla della FONDAZIONEVOLKART<\/b>, del suo organo direttivo e dei suoi membri, della sua storia<\/a>, e viene ricordata la benefattrice Lilly Volkart<\/a>, all'origine della Fondazione stessa.
\n
La FONDAZIONE VOLKART<\/b> \u00e8 una fondazione di diritto pubblico (CH-509.7.001.130-6), con\nsede a Lugano (TI), iscritta a registro di commercio del Cantone Ticino dal\n15.01.1991. Essa sottost\u00e0 alla autorit\u00e0 di vigilanza della \"Vigilanza\nsulle fondazioni e LPP della Svizzera orientale (CH-501.9.015.066-2)\".
\u00c8 scopo della<\/u><\/b> FONDAZIONEVOLKART<\/u><\/b> favorire ragazzi e ragazze, domiciliati in\nTicino oppure di origine ticinese, particolarmente dotati in un qualsiasi\ncampo, mediante contributi finanziari come borse di studio, contributi alle\nspese di formazione.<\/b> Organo principale della Fondazione \u00e8 il suo Consiglio di Fondazione.\nIl capitale della\nFondazione consente l'assegnazione di sussidi annuali individuali da Fr.\n1'000.- a 5'000.- non rimborsabili.\nI sussidi<\/b> sono al beneficio di\ngiovani al di sotto dei 18 anni<\/u>, ticinesi o residenti<\/u> in\nTicino, dotati di talento superiore alla media<\/u>, e le cui famiglie\ngodono di condizioni finanziarie che li giustifichino<\/u>. La Fondazione non<\/u> si occupa di\nsussidi generici agli studi<\/b>\n

\n Chi era Lilly Volkart<\/span> 
\n 1897-1988<\/span><\/b>\n , nata a Zurigo, mor\u00ec ad Ascona.\nLilly Volkart crebbe a\nZurigo in una famiglia di \"liberi pensatori\". 
Suo padre era insegnante\nalla Kunstgewerbeschule (Scuola d'Arti e Mestieri), sua madre fiorista. 
Divenne segretaria del\nprimo ospizio per bambini di Zurigo. Pass\u00f2 a Parigi per un\nsoggiorno linguistico. 
Nel 1916<\/b>, non ancora maggiorenne, apr\u00ec\n- a nome di suo padre - una pensione studentesca presso l'allora Polytechnikum\n(in seguito ETH: Scuola Politecnica Federale di Zurigo). 
Nel 1921<\/b> inizi\u00f2 a lavorare per la\ncoppia di medici Max e Minna Tobler-Christinger.
In seguito a problemi di salute, a richiesta dei coniugi Tobler nel 1922<\/b> trasloc\u00f2\npoi coi loro figli in quel di Ascona.\nNel 1924<\/b> decise di stabilirsi ad\nAscona e vi fond\u00f2 un ospizio per bambini nella Casa Cedro, la casa di Mia\nHesse-Bernoulli (prima moglie di Hermann Hesse).\nNel 1931<\/b> acquis\u00ec la propriet\u00e0\ndella sua casa in via Collinetta 40. 
Lilly Volkart f\u00f9 una delle venti donne che\nnel 1933<\/b> fondarono lo Schweizer Hilfswerk f\u00fcr Emigrantenkinder\n(Aiuto Svizzero per Bambini Emigranti), che nel seguito rese possibile che\noltre 10\u2019000 bambini e ragazzi rifugiati fossero ospiti presso famiglie ed\nistituti svizzeri.\nEssa gest\u00ec fino al 1947<\/b> l'ospizio\n\"Casa Bianca\u201c ad Ascona, e durante le persecuzioni naziste contro gli\nebrei vi offr\u00ec protezione e sicurezza a quasi cento bambini ebrei.
In totale quasi 4\u2019000 bambini furono suoi ospiti, nella sua casa e nelle altre\ncase - sul Monte Verit\u00e0 - che le furono messe a disposizione per la sua opera.\nIn una citazione nel libro di Eveline Zeder,\nl'opera di Lilly Volkart viene cos\u00ec elogiata: \"Diese seltsame Frau, wohl eine der besten P\u00e4dagoginnen, der man\nbegegnen kann ... <\/i>Sie l\u00f6st\ndiese Aufgabe mit einer bewundernswerten Hingabe, Selbstlosigkeit und Liebe. Zu\njedem einzelnen Kind hat sie ihre pers\u00f6nlichen Beziehungen, und die Kinder sp\u00fcren\nrecht wohl diese Vertrautheit und Verbundenheit ... Mag auch das Heim\n\u00e4usserlich nicht so fadengerade sein wie manche deutsch-schweizerischen Heime.\nSicher ist, dass man den Kindern gratulieren darf, die in dieser Atmosph\u00e4re\nleben d\u00fcrfen.<\/i>\u201c (trad.:\n\"Questa donna eccezionale, certamente una delle migliori pedagoghe che\nsi possano incontrare ... assolve questo compito con mirabli dedizione,\naltruismo ed amore. Intrattiene una propria relazione personale con ogni\nsingolo bimbo, ed ai bambini tale confidenza ed affetto sono visibilmente\nben\u00e9fici. ... Seppur l'ospizio non sia esteriormente rigoroso come certi altri\nsvizzero-tedeschi, di sicuro si pu\u00f2 rallegrarsi con i bambini, che hanno la\npossibilit\u00e0 di vivere in una tale atmosfera<\/b>.\")\nLilly Volkart f\u00f9 sostenuta\nfinanziariamente da ebrei emigrati in Ticino, da Emil Ludwig e consorte, dalla\nfamiglia d'industriali Oppenheimer, dalla famiglia Pelz-Mayer e da altri.\nRolf Liebermann - in\nseguito rinomato compositore e direttore operistico - funse da maestro di\nmusica presso di lei, per i bimbi rifugiati.\nDopo la fine della guerra,\ninizi\u00f2 lentamente il rientro in patria dei bambini rifugiati. Alcuni di essi\nrimasero per\u00f2 ancora molti anni presso Lilly.\n <\/span>\n

 Sul \u201eFerien-Journal<\/a>\u201c Nr. 112\/2, del 18.\nMaggio 1968<\/b>, a ricordare il 70\u00b0 compleanno di Lilly Volkart, in un\narticolo di Doris Hasenfratz si leggeva: \n <\/p>\n

 
 \"Als Lilly Volkart, Inhaberin des Kinderheims Casa Bianca auf der\nCollina, im November ihren 70. Geburtstag feierte, musste der Expressbote den\nWeg von der Post zum Kinderheim einige Male zur\u00fccklegen, denn es kamen\nGl\u00fcckw\u00fcnsche aus Amerika, Israel, Italien, Deutschland, Holland, Belgien und\naus vielen Orten der Schweiz. Lilly ist ein Begriff f\u00fcr Geborgenheit,\nGerechtigkeit und Liebe geworden, f\u00fcr echte m\u00fctterliche Liebe ohne \u00dcberschwang\nund Heuchelei.
Als ich k\u00fcrzlich in einer Boutique in Bologna ein Kleid kaufte und von dort telefonierte:\n\u201eBestellen Sie bitte Giorgio herzliche Gr\u00fcsse von Lilly aus Ascona<\/i>\u201c,\nsagte der Gesch\u00e4ftsinhaber: \u201eVerzeihen Sie, kommen Sie aus Ascona? Sie\nsprachen von Lilly, das kann doch nur Lilly vom Kinderheim in Ascona sein. Mein\nBruder und ich waren w\u00e4hrend des Krieges drei Jahre in ihrem Heim. Noch oft\nsprechen wir davon, es war eine herrliche Zeit<\/i>\u201c.\nIch lernte Lilly 1935 kennen. Als ich damals den grossen\nwildnis\u00e4hnlichen Garten betrat, lief mir ein blondes M\u00e4dchen in ledernen\nKnabenhosen entgegen, wie man mir sagte, eine Enkelin der Schriftstellerin\nFranziska von Reventlow, die Schriftstellerin lebte viele Jahre in Ascona und\nist auf dem Friedhof in Locarno begraben. \u201eLilly ist in der Waschk\u00fcche<\/i>\u201c\nrief das M\u00e4dchen. Ich suchte sie in der Waschk\u00fcche auf. Da stand sie, eine\nkleine Frau, mit Zoccoli an den F\u00fcssen vor dem Waschtrog und wusch\nKinderleibchen, H\u00f6schen und Kleidchen. Ein Paar dunkle, warmherzige Augen\nschauten mich an. Lachend sagte sie: \u201eIhr m\u00fcend no e chli warte, g\u00e4nd in Garte\nich chome grad\u201c. Von dieser kleinen Person ging etwas ungemein G\u00fctiges und\n\u00dcberzeigendes aus.\nDieser ersten Begegnung folgten noch viele. Als ich nach l\u00e4ngerer\nAbwesenheit 1942 nach Ascona zur\u00fcckkehrte, war mein erster Weg zu Lilly. Ich\nfand sie unver\u00e4ndert, erf\u00fcllt von Schaffensdrang und dem Willen zu helfen,\nerf\u00fcllt auch von Sorgen, denn sie hatte meistens mehr nicht zahlende als\nzahlende Kinder in Obhut. W\u00e4hrend dem Krieg kamen dann Fl\u00fcchtlingskinder aller\nNationen in die Schweiz, deutsche, franz\u00f6sische, belgische, polnische und viele\nitalienische. Der Aufgabenkreis gegen\u00fcber den Vorkriegsjahren vergr\u00f6sserte sich\nf\u00fcr Lilly. Ihr Heim wurde dem Schweizerischen Hilfswerk f\u00fcr Emigrantenkinder,\nSektion Tessin, unterstellt. Lilly verf\u00fcgte \u00fcber eine erstaunliche Kraft, nie\nwurde ihr eine Arbeit zuviel. In ihrem Urteil \u00fcber die Kinder war sie\nunbestechlich, selten hat sie sich geirrt. Wenn bei schwierigen Kindern niemand\nmehr einen Ausweg sah, so wusste Lilly zu helfen. In ihrem Heim haben\nchristliche Kinder die j\u00fcdischen Feste und die j\u00fcdischen die christlichen\nmitgefeiert. Alle Kinder, die in Lillys Heim waren und dann in die weite Welt\nhinausflatterten, haben etwas mitgetragen: den Geist der Liebe und des guten\nWillens, der in Lillys Haus herrscht.\nWohl w\u00e4ren Erneuerungen in Haus und Garten dringend n\u00f6tig, - aber wer\nbezahlt es? Das Wirtschaftswunder ist nicht \u00fcber Lillys Gartenzaun geklettert\nund wenn wirklich schon einmal Geld gespart werden konnte, kommt es sicher\nwieder hilfsbed\u00fcrftigen Kindern zugute.\nIn der Ferienzeit bekommt Lilly oft Besuch von ehemaligen Pflegkindern.\nEs kann dann vorkommen, dass ein eleganter Mann wie ein Junge den mit\nBaumwurzeln \u00fcberwachsenen und mit Steinen \u00fcbers\u00e4te Zugangsweg zum Haus\nhinaufh\u00fcpft mit beklommenem Herzen l\u00e4utet und dann vor Lilly steht. Lilly\nschaut ihm einige Sekunden ins Gesicht: \u201eAch du bist es Ruedi, ja wie geht\nes Dir?<\/i>\u201c und der grosse elegante junge Mann f\u00e4llt Lilly um den Hals und\nsagt: \u201eAch Lilly, ich hatte solche Angst, es k\u00f6nnte hier alles anders\ngeworden sein. Wie bin ich gl\u00fccklich, alles so wieder zu finden wie es war, als\nich fort gegangen bin.<\/i>\u201c Und so findet jeder, der nach Jahren zur\u00fcckkommt,\nhier ein St\u00fcck seiner Jugend wieder! Und sie kommen und bringen nun die eigenen\nKinder hin, um ihnen zu zeigen, wo ein Elternteil die Jugend verbracht hat, oft\nnimmt Lilly die Kinder ihrer \u201eEhemaligen\u201c auch in Obhut, wenn die Eltern\nungest\u00f6rt Ferien haben wollen. \u201eIch weiss gar nicht mehr, wie oft ich schon\nGrossmutter bin<\/i>\u201e pflegt Lilly zu sagen.\nWie ist es heute bei Lilly im Kinderheim ? Meistens sind es Schweizer\nKinder, manchmal Kinder, die aus gesundheitlichen Gr\u00fcnden einige Zeit im Tessin\nleben sollen oder auch Kinder mit Kontaktschwierigkeiten. Einmal hatte sie drei\nchinesische Kinder, die kamen, um deutsch und italienisch zu lernen, da ihr\nVater einen Posten als Ingenieur im B\u00fcndnerland hatte. Viele Kinder haben bei\nLilly eine gl\u00fcckliche Zeit verbracht, denn in ihren Haus herrscht der Geist\nPestalozzis.\u201c    \n <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n

\n <\/span>\n Helmut\nSchwab, nel suo scritto \"Guiding lights of my liife\", scrisse anche\ndi Lilly: \"... Lilly Volkart, who founded and managed a\nhome for troubled children:<\/i>Where could I have lived without any financial\nresources while hoping to attend high school in Ascona? Only at Lilly Volkart\u2019s\nHome for Children on the \u201cCollina,\u201d the hill above the town. Lilly had founded\nthe home to help children in trouble after very difficult years in her own\nyounger life. The famous Pestalozzi had brought Switzerland a tradition of new\napproaches to education. <\/i>Lilly may\nhave exceeded him.<\/i>\u201cMy children,\u201d as she called those referred to her\nby social workers in the larger or industrial cities of Switzerland, found\nharmony, self-esteem, and blossomed again. By the end of Nazi persecution of\nJews in World War II, Lilly had accepted almost one hundred Jewish children in\nher home\u2014all of whom had miraculously been transferred by their parents to\nSwitzerland. Then Lilly accepted me, too, and leveraged her influence in that\nsmall town to have the local Benedictine monastery school admit me to its graduating\nclass for that year. <\/i>I am grateful to both Lilly\nand the Benedictines.<\/i>During the time that I stayed at Lilly\u2019s Home, I\nworked endless hours to catch up with a new language (Italian) and a new\ncurriculum, and then, there were also the chores for the Home that were\nexpected of each child. The highlight of each day was the late evening\nconversation with Lilly. The older children and I surrounded her in her\ncombination living room, dining room, and office. Talk flowed freely, from the\nvarious daily experiences of the children to questions about the Home to unique\ncharacters of the small town to the life of the community in general to stories\nfrom the past.<\/i>In the most natural way possible, Lilly let every\none of the children talk about his or her life and, in so talking, develop his\nor her thoughts, perspectives, and goals\u2014or report about his or her problems\nand probe for solutions. When talking about other people, she never allowed us\nto \u201ctear them apart.\u201d Talking about them was always a way of understanding\nthem, while not necessarily condoning their attitudes.<\/i>Lilly had a penchant for spirituality, for seeing\nmore in life than biology, psychology, and getting ahead. Was there not\nsomething higher in existence? Something that we did not yet understand, but\nthat might be more meaningful?<\/i>What mainly counted for Lilly was what a person did\nin life that was good.<\/i>Wasn\u2019t that also wisdom?<\/i>\n <\/span>\n Thank you, Lilly, for giving to my young life some\nwarmth, a search for deeper meaning, the attempt to understand others before\ncriticizing them, and the always humble striving for doing good.
